Scope
Rodgers provided preconstruction and construction services for this 2-story, 26,500-square-foot addition to the Women’s Center at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center
Highlights
Ten labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suites were added, allowing patients to transition from labor to recovery all in one place
Existing patient rooms were renovated to match the new design, featuring private balconies, sleeper chairs and full bathrooms
Additional features include a special care nursery, women’s boutique, community classroom space, triage rooms and an expanded level II neonatal intensive care unit
The expansion increased the women’s center to approximately 49,000 square feet with a total of 33 LDRP rooms
