Scope
The Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB) project is an upfit of an existing three-story building shell located on the Greenville Memorial Medical Campus
Highlights
Construction involved a complete upfit of the existing floors and adding floor area to the building. Increased area was achieved through adding a second and third floor over the main atrium
The area added on the new second floor is a quiet study lounge and the third floor hosts the student lounge—both areas have a circumference of glass windows that offer a full view of the building’s exterior surroundings
Leading-edge infrastructure supports the state-of-the-art audiovisual, distance education, and simulation lab technology
The spaces within the building are designed with flexibility to suit multiple academic uses, including: classrooms, lecture halls, gross anatomy lab, multi-disciplinary virtual labs, simulation center, clinical skills suite, library, administration spaces, student lounge, study rooms, common areas, and a café
