Scope
The Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College (the HUB), is a result of an upfit of an existing 1920s textile mill into an innovation center for Davidson College. Rodgers served as construction manager and performed the initial renovation of the building’s core and shell, along with the upfit of two main spaces. The building serves as a place where campus and community meet, designed to provide a space where students can collaborate with businesses and the community on issues such as technology, innovation and entrepreneurship
Highlights
Rodgers’ portion of the upfit included finishing space for the future Social Commons and Coworking Space. Social Commons is a 2,000 square-foot space and is located inside the main entrance, providing space to meet and collaborate in a casual setting. The Coworking space is a 7,500 square-foot area dedicated for startups, entrepreneurs, Davidson College students, faculty and alumni to meet and work
