Rodgers Wins Charlotte Museum of History Gem Preservation Award

04/26/2023

We are thrilled to share that the First Presbyterian Church of Charlotte Renovations project has won a Charlotte Museum of History Gem Preservation Award!

First Presbyterian Church is deemed to be one of the oldest structures in Charlotte. Originally built in 1857, the church, with its auxiliary buildings and expansive lawn, commands today, as it has since the mid-nineteenth century, a prominent visual and spiritual presence in the community.

Our team carefully performed extensive interior renovations to the existing Chancel, Choir Loft, Organ Loft, Sanctuary, and Library and worked meticulously to preserve the deep history of the church. The renovations allow church visitors to enjoy a handicap-accessible space, pews that offer more legroom, updated lighting that brightens and warms the room, event space, and beautiful music from the new pipe organ.

Thank you to our partners at Jenkins•Peer Architects!
