Rodgers Builders Wins ABC Carolinas EIC Merit Award

The UNC Health Medical Office Building I & Parking Deck has won an ABC Carolinas 2021 Excellence in Construction Awards Merit Award!

The ABC Carolinas Chapter Excellence in Construction (EIC) Awards is a yearly competition in which general contractors and specialty contractors submit their projects for recognition. The EIC program is the premier competition within the Carolinas construction community that recognizes outstanding projects ABC members have built.

This project, located in Chapel Hill, included demolition of four existing buildings and preconstruction and construction of a ground-up, six-story medical office building as well as a six-story, 1,038-space, precast parking garage.

The new facility contains 285 exam rooms and houses specialty clinics including cardiology, pulmonary, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, rheumatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, infectious disease, allergy, clinical trials, GI specialties, urology, and benign hematology specialties. The facility also includes X-Ray, MRI, and CT imaging, therapeutic infusion, and a 1,538 ISO Class 7 Pharmaceutical Cleanroom. Other amenities include a cafe and retail pharmacy.
