Rodgers and Carteret General Hospital recently celebrated the start of construction for the expansion project that will add 112,000 square feet of space to the hospital in Morehead City, North Carolina. At the groundbreaking ceremony on March 21, Dick Brvenik, President of Carteret General Hospital, said the project has come as a direct result of the needs of the community.

The scope of the project includes a new three-story, Specialty Pavilion addition to the existing hospital that includes a Cancer Center, Women’s Center, and Patient Tower and will serve as a new front entrance to the hospital. Additional aspects of the project include a two-story vertical expansion overtop the single story, existing Emergency Department wing and substantial upgrades to the hospital’s overall CEP and distribution channels to support the new expansion and renovations.

The project is anticipated to be completed in September 2015.
