ABC of the Carolinas honors Rodgers with Excellence in Construction Awards

Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas held the 16th Annual Excellence in Construction Awards this month. The competitive program recognizes outstanding construction projects across the Carolinas, chosen for innovation and quality construction, with a strong emphasis on safety. This year, Rodgers had three projects that were honored.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Uptown

  • Constructed on a tight, 0.25-acre urban site, the hotel includes 195 rooms and 16 stories plus a basement level
  • On street level, the hotel boasts a lobby and bar and a retail tenant space
  • Level two has meeting space, a fitness center and a breakfast area
  • Additional features include a 3,000-square-foot ballroom on the 16th floor and a 1,500-square-foot rooftop terrace with sweeping views of uptown Charlotte

Greenville Technical College – Gene Haas Center for Manufacturing Innovation

  • The Center is a collaboration between education industry and community partners, providing education, training and economic development
  • Programs at the Center include mechatronics, CNC machining, metrology and robotics
  • The Gene Haas Center for Manufacturing Innovation achieved Two Green Globes® based on the Green Globes environmental assessment and rating system. The Green Globes rating system is developed on a one to four Globe scale to assess the environmental performance of commercial buildings

Greenville Technical College – Gene Haas Center for Manufacturing Innovation

Davidson College – E. Craig Wall Jr. Academic Center

  • Davidson’s new academic building houses the biology, chemistry, psychology and environmental science departments
  • The building has 20 teaching labs, 49 faculty offices and five learning environments for lectures, presentations and group meetings
  • Project scope included the addition of two new wings, connected to an existing building through a central atrium
