The KPMG office project in Greenville was designed to be LEED Certified upon completion. Instead, the project received five additional points to qualify for the higher Silver-level certification due to the work of the project team in exceeding the base requirements.
The original goal, LEED Certification, requires earning 47 points. The Rodgers project team earned five additional points, which put the project into the LEED Silver category with 52 points.
The additional points were earned for:
- Doubling the goal of Recycled Content in construction materials: 1 point
- Exemplary performance for Regional Materials: 2 points, including 1 point for innovation
- Buying out and documenting Certified Wood: 1 point
- Documenting and submitting SMaRT Certification for products: 1 point for innovation
