MEP Estimator – Charlotte/Raleigh, NC

The MEP Estimator is responsible for providing estimates for the cost of work for the mechanical and electrical trades, working with vendors and subcontractors to verify costs and current market conditions, and relaying this information to the internal Rodgers team and external project design team, as needed.

Requirements / Experience

  • 4-year construction base degree desired
  • 3-5 years experience in the Mechanical Trades is desired

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Provide pricing and constructability expertise specific to MEPF trades
  • Assist in preparation and review of Bid Package Manual
  • Produce accurate MEPF estimates through all phases of preconstruction
  • Conduct post-bid interviews in MEPF trades
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids for thoroughness, accuracy and complete scope
  • Write and review Qualifications and Clarifications
  • Review other MEPF trade’s estimates
  • Evaluate Change Orders as requested
  • Develop/enhance trade contractor, vendor and design engineer relationships
  • Ability to present MEPF estimates to Precon Team, Designers and Owners
  • Solicit vendor and subcontractor input to estimate equipment packages
  • Price value engineering alternatives
  • Oversee MEPF hard bid receipt and evaluation
