Cunningham Fine Arts Building was originally built in 1961. The building’s brick exterior remained intact, but the 24,000-square-foot interior space was renovated and upgraded to accommodate new theatrical equipment and the associated technology.
Rodgers Builders reconfigured the sloped, theater-style auditorium and constructed a “black-box” flexible theater. Additionally there is a new catwalk, rehearsal space with maple floors, classrooms, dressing rooms, and a new warehouse entry and loading dock.
The Cunningham Fine Arts Building project was awarded LEED® Silver certification.
