The Residence Hall Phase 8 at UNCC is a 4-story, steel-frame structure housing 502 new beds for students. The 148,307 square-foot facility consists of 87 single and 38 double suites. The exterior skin includes exterior studs and brick veneer. The mechanical system includes a 4-pipe system with individual fan coil units for the suites. There are separate air handling units for the common areas and classrooms. The $17.4 million project included a 15-month schedule.
