General Contracting, Preconstruction
Rodgers Builders provided comprehensive preconstruction and construction services for the development of Carolinas Medical Center's satellite hospital in south Charlotte. Prior to its development in the early 1980s, Charlotte's three major healthcare providers (Carolinas Healthcare System, Presbyterian Hospital and Mercy Hospital) all operated from uptown central facilities. This new facility marked a pioneering effort to provide comprehensive health services to Charlotte's outlying growth areas to the South.
The $17 million, 200,000-square-foot facility was completed in 1986. Other Rodgers projects for Carolinas Medical Center include the 400 Medical Office Building, Maternity Center Phases I, II, III, and Emergency Department Addition and Renovations.
