The Women's Center expansion and renovation program included a 66,000-square-foot vertical expansion atop an existing 8-story precast parking deck, a 20,000-square-foot North Wing addition above the existing 2-story Children's Hospital, which includes a 17,000-square-foot connector bridge to the existing hospital at the seventh floor.
The new Women's Center includes 39 postpartum beds, a newborn nursery, 16 labor and delivery rooms, 3 C-Section rooms, 14 high-risk antepartum beds and various support areas. A ground-level lobby provides vertical access to the Women's Center.
Work on the seventh floor of the existing hospital included renovations that created a 38-position ICU unit and 20 new GYN beds. Renovations to the remainder of the seventh floor and to patient rooms on the sixth floor continue in another phase of construction.
