The Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital is the second of six projects to be completed on New Hanover Regional Medical Center campus as part of its Strategic Master Facility Plan Implementation Program. The Rodgers project team broke ground on August 2, 2006 and completed the 195,000-square-foot Women and Children’s Hospital in August 2008.
Women's and Children's Center includes 14 LDRs, 13 high-risk pregnancy beds, 38-bed mother/baby inpatient unit and a 16-bed gynecologist inpatient unit.
Children's Center includes 22 neonatal transitional beds, a 17-bed pediatric inpatient unit, 23 NICU beds and 6 PICU beds. This NICU is the first facility in the state to offer private rooms for newborns [and their families].
