Rodgers was responsible for the 98,000-square-foot expansion and 59,320-square-foot renovation of Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Health Careers Building as part of the Central Campus Master Expansion Plan.
The new four-story addition has a masonry veneer and precast accents. It connects to the Belk Building, which received the bulk of the renovations. These interconnected buildings house classrooms and laboratories for students studying for medical support careers such as dental hygienists, respiratory therapists, and surgical technicians.
CPCC’s Health Careers Building is located at the corner of Elizabeth and Charlottetown Avenues. The entranceway is recognizable with its 21-foot-tall glass windows that are integrated within the design of the rotunda.
