Over the course of 14 months, the Oakland Elementary School addition and renovation project was divided into phases to ease the transition while classes remained in session throughout construction.
The 15,000-square-foot classroom addition includes new space for art, music, physical education, and academics. Renovations to the 66,695-square-foot school include new flooring, paint, and ceilings, plus technology and HVAC upgrades.
The exterior of the building was reconfigured to allow additional parking and a safer student arrival area. There is also a new fire access road that extends to the rear of the building.
