NC State University’s new Talley Student Center receives SPACE award

North Carolina State University’s Talley Student Center won the top award in the Education category for a new building project on the campus of a Triangle school or university at this year’s Triangle Business Journal’s SPACE Awards.

The SPACE Awards recognize the top development and new construction projects in the greater Triangle metro region in a variety of categories including; education, office, apartments, mixed-use, redevelopment, entertainment and sustainability.

Completed in 2014, the Talley Student Center creates a new center for student activity by transforming a 1972 facility into a vital place for building the campus community and hub for student life. The landmark design fosters an exciting, engaging, interactive and interdisciplinary student environment through an emphasis on shared and flexible spaces, diversified dining, university pride and centralized student organizations. Integrated exterior/interior environments advance a new model for student centers and redefine NC State’s campus identity.
