Rodgers upfitted several corporate offices within Charlotte’s new Duke Energy Center and is pleased to announce that its Wells Fargo & Company upfit has received LEED® Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Platinum is the highest level of certification within USGBC’s rating system.
As construction manager, Rodgers was responsible for the documentation and submittal of 16 of the awarded 87 credits—all of which were approved. Rodgers was awarded additional points in the following categories:
– Waste Management: Original goal was 50%; Rodgers recycled 90% (1 point).
– Regional Materials: Original goal was 20% locally manufactured/10% locally harvested; Rodgers documented 27% for both locally manufactured and harvested materials (2 points).
– Innovation and Design: Rodgers utilized sustainable carpet that was third-party certified as NSF/ANSI 140-2007 compliant (1 point).
As part of a LEED initiative, the building’s owner required tenants to pursue LEED for Commercial Interiors certification. This inspired the Rodgers team to surpass the first level of certification until they achieved platinum.
