Rodgers Builders awarded contract for Sharon Towers residence tower

(Charlotte, N.C. - March 2, 2001) Rodgers Builders was awarded a contract for a new 10-story residence tower and parking deck at Sharon Towers, a continuing care retirement community on Sharon Road also known as The Presbyterian Home at Charlotte.

The 90,000 square foot building will be designed by Jenkins-Peer Architects of Charlotte, and will include approximately 50 terrace apartment suites. The residence tower will be connected to the main building by an enclosed, temperature-controlled walkway. The tower will also have a covered walkway to the new 212-space parking deck. Other site improvements include modifications to the main entrance, a new service entrance and additional surface parking.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2001.

A not-for profit corporation that has offered retirement housing and healthcare in Charlotte for 32 years, Sharon Towers is located at 5100 Sharon Road. The 23-acre property includes 34 cottages, 177 apartments, 40 assisted living and 96 nursing care rooms, and is home to 310 residents.
