Two of North Carolina’s largest privately-held general contractors -- Rodgers Builders and RT Dooley -- have formed a strategic business alliance to pursue special construction projects in Charlotte and throughout the Carolinas’ region that can benefit from the companies’ unique combination of expertise and experience. The alliance will do business as RodgersDooley.
“Both of our companies are community-based and community-focused and share the same core values,” said Pat Rodgers, president of Rodgers Builders. “While our organizations will remain independent, the creation of this alliance will assist Rodgers Builders and RT Dooley in achieving our most important objective -- meeting customers’ needs efficiently and effectively with the highest-quality professional services possible.”
David Dooley, executive vice president of RT Dooley, said that his company and Rodgers have worked separately for many years for many of the same clients.
“Our creating a strategic alliance makes good business sense for many reasons,” Dooley said. “We have served many of the same clients on the same projects, bringing our different technical specialties to bear. By forming an alliance, we can better serve these and many more clients by offering a unique building solution.”
Alliances between general contracting firms are increasingly common in the construction industry as projects grow both in size and complexity. Rodgers and Dooley have ongoing alliances with other general contractors that will continue to operate based on client needs in strategic locations.
“It is all about meeting our customers needs,” Rodgers said. “David and I recognize that both of our companies bring certain strengths to the team for our various clients. Combining those talents can mean that one plus one equals three.”
Combined, Rodgers Builders and RT Dooley have more than 63 years of experience with projects in various markets segments, including educational, corporate office/headquarters, restaurant/retail, mixed-use, critical services and healthcare. The alliance of the two companies on special projects will offer construction management-at-risk, general construction, design build, pre-construction and post-construction services.
Corporate structures and ownership of the two companies is unchanged, with the alliance representing an ongoing opportunity for RodgersDooley to jointly market and develop projects that can benefit from the combined expertise of both organizations.
