Rodgers Builders received the 2005 Excellence in Construction Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of the Carolinas (ABCC) for the new Academic Center at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Constructed by RodgersDooley, an alliance of contractors Rodgers Builders and R T Dooley, the judges presented the award based on the construction team’s outstanding achievements in quality, innovation, teamwork, management of construction constraints, and safety on the project.
The project’s urban location, high community profile, design features, and functional requirements created challenges in scheduling, logistics, and coordination, successfully met through collaboration and innovation.
