Rodgers Builders, an ENR Top 400-ranked contractor has immediate need for a Director of Mechanical & Electrical Services. Responsibilities and qualifications include, but not limited to:
• Ensure that all senior MEP personnel have a thorough understanding of all aspects of MEP preconstruction and construction
• Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring and reviewing MEP project managers and coordinators
• Responsible for supporting MEP Estimators
• Develop feedback processes for continual estimate performance improvement
• Maintain MEP pricing database for all market segments served by RBI
• Develop and maintain Subcontractor and Equipment Vendor RFP’s for use in Divisions 15, 16 and 17
• Assist in the development of RCO pricing data base for use by construction operations
• Conduct “best practices” review of construction documents
• Provide design assistants during budget development
• Manage MEP Subcontractor deficiencies
• Develop database of prequalified MEP Subs & Equipment Vendors
• Develop / maintain relationship with new and emerging MEP Subs & Equipment Vendors
• Serve as project Commissioning Authority on all LEED projects when allowed
• Develop and incorporate commissioning requirements into the construction documents
• Review MEP submittals for compliance with design requirements
• Verify the installation and performance of the system to be commissioned
• Complete a summary commissioning report
• Single point of contact for all MEP code compliance
• Active in Code Compliance Organizations (NFPA, NEC, NCBIA, etc)
• Coordinate and conduct Code Compliance workshops
• Coordinate in-house MEP LEED® training
• Develop and Manage RBI process for compliance and documentation on RBI LEED® projects
• Participate and assist with content in Business Development Presentations
4-year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering related degree, minimum of 10 years construction experience with projects of $5 million+, Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred but not required.
