Pat is a member of the boards of directors for the Charlotte Merchants Foundation, the UNC Charlotte Foundation, and Central Piedmont Community College Foundation. She is currently chair of the Foundation for the Mint Museums, and serves on the Governing Board of Directors of Foundation For The Carolinas. Pat was appointed to the President’s Advisory Council for Johnson & Wales University and the Charlotte Executive Board for Wake Forest University.

Pat is past Chair of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce (2011) and past Chair of the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. She is past Chair of the Mint Museum of Art, the McColl Center for Visual Art and Florence Crittenton Services. She has served as a member of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Task Force, the Board of Directors of the Hornets’ Nest Girl Scouts Council, the Board of Trustees of Davidson College, and the Board of Directors for Critz, Inc. in Savannah, Ga.

She also is past Chair of the Board of the Carolinas Chapter of The Associated General Contractors of America and a past Board Member of the Construction Industry Roundtable (CIRT).

In April 2011, Governor Bev Perdue presented Pat with the Order of the Longleaf Pine, one of the highest civilian awards in the State of North Carolina. Other recent honors include Echo Foundation’s Award Against Indifference in April 2011, the Girls Scouts Hornets Nest Lifetime Achievement Award, and the 2011 Whitney M. Young award from the Urban League.

Pat was named the 2009 Charlotte Woman of the Year and received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® Award for the Real Estate Hospitality & Construction category in the Carolinas in 2008. She is a past recipient of the Businesswoman of the Year Award from Queens University of Charlotte. Pat has been recognized twice by The Charlotte Business Journal, first as the 2005 Business Person of the Year, and in 2009 with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
